The 59th Hong Kong Brands and Products Expo (HKBPE), organised by the Chinese Manufacturers’ Association of Hong Kong (CMA), officially opened on 13 December at Victoria Park in Causeway Bay. Today, Mr Eric Chan, Chief Secretary for Administration of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), officiated at the launching ceremony, toured the Expo, and interacted with exhibitors, demonstrating his strong support for local enterprises.
In his address, Dr Wingco Lo, President of the CMA, emphasised that the HKBPE has always remained true to its principle of “putting industry first while keeping people’s livelihood at heart.” “The value of the HKBPE goes far beyond its economic contribution,” he said. “It embodies the enduring Hong Kong spirit. At a time when our community is healing and our economy is moving toward higher-quality growth, the Expo continues to serve an important role. It brings warmth to the community, stimulates local consumption, supports SMEs, and showcases the energy and strength that define Hong Kong.”
The launching ceremony was attended by a distinguished lineup of guests, including Mr Liu Guangyuan, Deputy Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the HKSAR; Mr Zhang Changwei, Deputy Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China in the HKSAR; Dr Starry Lee, Member of Standing Committee of the NPC and Legislative Councillor; Mr Erick Tsang, Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, Mr Algernon Yau, Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development; Zhu Wen, Director-General of the Coordination Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the HKSAR; Ms Irene Young, Permanent Secretary for Environment and Ecology (Food); Mr Aaron Liu, Director-General of Trade and Industry, and the office bearers of the CMA.
This year’s HKBPE features more than 900 booths, offering a wide array of products, complemented by diverse activities, stage performances, and attractive promotions. Blending shopping, entertainment, and a warm community spirit, the event has attracted large crowds and created a lively atmosphere over the opening weekend.
Running until 5 January, 2026, the CMA expects the HKBPE to inject fresh momentum into the local economy and remain one of Hong Kong’s most popular year-end shopping extravaganzas.
